"This is the biggest Games in history, and we did it," says Dominique. "It's really too hard to explain in words."

Dominique Moceanu is one of the best gymnasts in the world. Dominique is also an author of a book called Dominique Moceanu: An American Champion. At age 13 she became the youngest Senior National Champion Ever. Dominique Wanted so much to go to the Olympics, so she concentrated on the Olympic Trials. But when Dominique was practicing her bar routine for the Olympic Trials, she fell on her dismount. Bela said to try it again. But when Dominique got up her legs just collapsed. Bela and Dominique became worried. Bela took Dominique to the hospital. The doctor said that Dominique was diagnosed with a four-centimeter stress fracture in her right leg. Dominiuqe and Bela were VERY upset. Dominique was not allowed to do anything that put pressure on the leg. So she could not vault until July 7, which was weeks after the Olympic Trials. Dominique cried and said "How can this happen to me right now???" So Bela called the USA Gymnastics Olympic Team Selection, told the about the stress fracture, and asked if they would take Dominique's scores from the Nationals. They agreed. So in the end, Dominique made the Olympic team. During the Olympics Dominique had a great time. Afte the Olympics, and after touring the U.S., Dominique and her family wanted to build a gym. They did and it's the biggest gym in the United States, with 11 sets of bars, 13 beams, 2 floor mats, and 3 vaults. It's called Moceanu Gymnastics Inc. Dominique trains there now. Although Dominique know life will never be the same without Bela, she must move on. Dominique is unsure about the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, but for now she is competing and getting ready for the tours.
